Land identified, Kherki Daula toll plaza to be shifted by Dec
The state government has identified land for relocation of Kherki Daula toll plaza, said sources close to deputy commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh, who revealed the plan at a district-level clearance committee meeting in Gurgaon on Friday. It will be allotted to NHAI within 15 days, after which, NHAI will complete the shifting by December.
The problem with the plaza’s location was first highlighted by Manesar industrialists, who had also complained of traffic mismanagement in Udyog Vihar, lack of proper lighting in IMT, parking problems in industrial estates and connectivity with Gurgaon. “We’ll study Udyog Vihar’s traffic problems and see what can be done to improve the situation without major infrastructural changes,” said Singh. He also ordered installation of LED streetlights in the industrial estates.
The industry association expressed contentment at the outcome of the meeting, and said they are hopeful their grievances will be resolved in a timely manner. “One of our major concerns is ambiguity over concerns of IT and ITES. While some government departments treat IT as industry, others treat it as an institution. Not only is this creating confusion, but also causing disparities in property tax and electricity rates, as slabs vary for different industries,” said Animesh Saxena, the Gurgaon Industrial Association president.
